January is a great time to give your website a full review. During the year you often get busy, and forget to update your website content. We are all guitly of it. Take some time to look over your pages & poss and start the year off with a fresh and clean website!
Update Photos
A new year often means a change in weather, or styles. Updating your website photos with current seasonal pictures, or just more current photos of you and your staff can make a big difference.
Review Pricing
With all the supply chain issues, we have all been experiencing delays & price increases. Reviewing any pricing you may have on your website is always a good idea. You do not want to have any outdated prices listed on our website.
Dates
We often have dates and years listed throughout our websites. Updating any years, like the one in your footer to the current year, helps your site look current. Also, if you list years you have been in service etc, it might be time to update that number too.
ADA Accessibility
This is a hot topic. Currently all federal, state and local government websites are required to meet accessibility standards under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
While there is some gray area about what regulations apply to small busineses, lawsuites are becoming more and more common against websites that do not meet ADA standards. I plan to do a whole blog post soon going into more detail about ADA standards, but if you are ready to step up your websites accessibily there is a new product, Accessibe, that can monitor your site 24/7 and provide you with some of the best coverage. Learn more about Accessibe here, and try out a free 7 day trial. You can see it in action on my website, just click on the icon in the bottom right corner of my website.
Give your website a refresh for the new year, and start off 2022 on the right foot.
